Autistic? You Are A Victim Of Fraud. Let Me Explain…

If you are autistic, or if you live with and care for a dog, you have been sold the exact same fundamental lie.

The multi-billion-dollar compliance industries—spanning modern pet training on one side and neurodivergent “behavioral therapy” on the other—are built on a single, toxic ideological construct: the myth of free will.

They tell you that behavior is a “choice.” They tell you that a meltdown, a shutdown, a reactive bark, or an inability to mask is an agentic, moral decision made by the individual. They sell the comforting lie that every organism possesses an uncaused volition—a magical inner lever that chooses whether to “behave” or “misbehave.”

It is a scam. It is an ideological fantasy rooted in libertarian philosophy, designed to strip away environmental accountability and turn biological processing into a profitable commodity.

Once you understand real, biological determinism, the entire system of lies collapses under the weight of its own bullshit.

The Libertarian Fantasy of “Moral Choice”

Libertarian ideology insists that individuals operate in a vacuum, entirely responsible for their own outcomes regardless of structural, environmental, or biological constraints. When applied to behavior, this mindset becomes destructive.

By framing actions as “choices,” the industry constructs a convenient binary:

When a dog reacts to overwhelming sensory triggers on a walk, the trainer says, “He chose not to listen.” When an autistic individual experiences a sensory meltdown or reaches burnout from forced masking, the system says, “They are choosing to be dysregulated.”

This shift is intentional. If behavior is an uncaused “choice,” then the handler, therapist, or institution bears zero responsibility for the environment they have constructed. The blame is transferred entirely onto the learner.

The Profit Model: Why They Sell “Choice”

The compliance industry sells the illusion of “free will” because determinism destroys their business model.

  1. It Sells the Illusion of Agency: Parents, handlers, and caregivers are comforted by the idea that they are teaching “decision-making.” It sounds humane, progressive, and empowering to say, “We are giving them the choice to do the right thing.”
  2. It Justifies Coercion and Bribes: When the individual inevitably fails to make the “right choice” because their biological capacity has been breached, the concept of free will gives the system permission to intervene. They deploy primary inducements (bribes, lures, treats) to manipulate compliance, or compulsive pressure (punishment, removal of support, sensory deprivation) to enforce it.
  3. It Guarantees Repeat Customers: Because bribery and suppression treat the outward output rather than the underlying cause, the behavior never actually resolves. The root biological trigger remains untreated. The client is forced to keep paying for the next protocol, the next tool, and the next session.

The Deterministic Truth: Behavior is Cause and Effect

Real behavioral science—grounded in Radical Behaviorism and neurobiology—rejects the myth of uncaused volition entirely.

An organism does not operate on “will.” An organism operates on cause and effect.

Every single behavior produced by a dog or an autistic human is a deterministic response to a precise equation:

$$\text{Behavior} = f(\text{Environment}, \text{Sensory Antecedents}, \text{Physiological State}, \text{History of Reinforcement})$$

When an autistic person experiences a meltdown, or when a dog lunges on a leash, it is not a moral failure. It is a biological certainty. The sensory load exceeded processing capacity, the antecedent triggered a fight-or-flight response, or the environment demanded an adaptation the nervous system could not physically produce.

There was no “choice” involved. The output was written by the antecedents.

The Human Cost: Behavioral Euthanasia and Shutdown

When you force a deterministic organism to exist in a system that demands compliance through “choice,” the results are catastrophic.

In dogs, suppressing natural communication through bribes or pressure leads to “learned helplessness”—a state where the dog completely shuts down, stops communicating, and eventually bites without warning or is behaviorally euthanized for “unpredictability.”

In autistics, the exact same system forces chronic masking, severe nervous system trauma, and catastrophic burnout. Autistic people spend decades being told that their biological limitations are moral failures, leading to a profound loss of agency, severe depression, and a systematic shutting down of the self.

The Collapse of the Lie

The moment you accept strict determinism, you stop trying to manipulate an abstract “will” and start analyzing real, physical variables:

You cannot bribe or punish a nervous system out of overload. You cannot force a deterministic organism to “choose” its way past biological reality.

The dog training industry and the compliance therapy system are selling fraud. They are selling libertarian fantasies to hide their failure to understand basic cause and effect. It is time to throw out the myth of “free will,” stop blaming the learner, and start addressing the actual environment.
